Monthly Recap: August

For the first time in years, I am not stressed out about the fact that the end of the year is fast approaching. In fact, I am looking forward to December and also the coming year. It has taken me a while, but I am finally super content with where I am in life.

Apart from some stress / anxiety at work, it has been a really good month. Also, I am almost up-to-date with my blog and don't have any scheduled posts. This is also a first as I have been scheduling posts for the past year now.

Went to my first AFL match, free tickets courtesy of work. It was absolutely freezing.

The forced office closure was announced for the Christmas / New Year period and I will have two weeks off. Subsequently, I  calculated my leave and I won't have enough leave accrued until May next year. It is such a first world / privileged person problem to lament about the fact that I won't be able to go overseas until then (1.5 years after my last trip). But I work to live, and I love to travel. I am hoping I will be able to sneak in very short domestic trips in the meantime.

If there is one word to summate August it would be: picnic. My boyfriend and I had three picnics over the course of the month at: Warragamba Dam, Kurnell and Narrabeen. We tried to make the most of the cooler weather as we know that come spring / summer, it will be far too hot to be having a picnic in the sun. Although it is supposedly the warmest winter yet, I have felt it has been the coldest in a very long time. I managed to get good use out of my winter coats which I feel is a rarity in the usually extremely mild Sydney winters.

First beach visit since last summer - I usually forget how beautiful Sydney is but there are moments when it just takes my breath away.

Photos all taken on Samsung S8. Yes, it is usually clear blue skies in Sydney, even in the winter months. Photos make it appear a lot warmer than what it actually was though!
