Where Have I Really Been

So where have I really been? Let's break it down into categories.

The Big Things

  • I went to Vietnam and Thailand; favourite part of the trip was Ha Long Bay and Marble Mountains.
  • Created a rough 3-year plan - from travel plans to life stuff. Although, the phrase 'man plans, God laughs' crosses my mind ... frequently.
  • Finished reading Tess of the d'Urbevilles - it had been sitting on my bookshelf for 9 years.
  • The hot water tank died a few months ago. Cue boiling water + bucket shower in the bathtub. Then the shower had to get fixed; bucket shower but with hot water from the taps. Mildly inconvenient but as I only wash my hair once a week, it wasn't too bad. On the positive, it made me realise how little water I actually need to bathe.
  • I cut my hair to the shortest length it had been in over 10 years. I have also grown out all my layers (which is a big deal because I had a bajillion) and my fringe.
  • Realisation that I graduated from highschool almost 10 years ago!
  • Bought a new phone in a pretty copper colour.
  • Met Mani from EatYourTeacup and Nikkie from Simplee Nikkie
  • Had angular cheilitis which was painful and uncomfortable. It took a very long 3 weeks to heal.

The Less-Big Things

Objectively, I guess things are going fairly well. However, there is this quiet discontent with the current state of affairs. Perhaps a restlessness. Or perhaps impatience. I'm trying to remember to be kinder to myself; to remind myself that I'm not behind compared to others, that where I am is enough.

Something something enjoy the journey and not the destination something something.
