All I Want for Christmas ...

Breaking Dawn ...
Earlier today I went to see 'Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' with my university friend and I was genuinely surprised in terms of the quality of the film. I went in with almost no expectations as I had based this from the previous films in the series. On a scale of 5 stars on my Twilight-movie-scale, it would probably score 4 stars. The first thing I noticed was that the soundtrack was amazing and truly beautiful. The second thing I noticed that part from Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen) everyone else in the film was acting fairly successfully, although it may be that I was distracted by the amazing soundtrack which I have listened to all day. 'Turning Page' by Sleeping at Last is beautiful:
i surrender who i’ve been for who you are,
for nothing makes me stronger than your fragile heart.
if i had only felt how it feels to be yours,
well, i would have known what I’ve been living for all along.
what i’ve been living for.
As it was written exclusively for the film, the lyrics are of course very fitting to the circumstances. Overall, most of the film and the soundtrack that accompanied it was nostalgic; it transported me back to an earlier time where things were simpler and things were different. Though truth be told, it doesn't feel all that long ago. I think it is time to re-read the entire series, something I haven't done for nearly 2 years now.

Christmas is exactly a month away and it is bizarre that it is already Christmas and almost the end of 2011 with 2012 just around the corner. It's bizarre how fast time moves sometimes. What I love about Christmas is the Christmas decorations in shopping centres and the tree at the Queen Victoria's Building is definitely my favourite place. The Christmas tree is 3 storeys high, 24m and adorned with 144 000 Swarovski crystals and 60 000 lights. The tree is so impressive and yet impossible to capture. I have a soft spot for Swarovski crystals; they are absolutely stunning and I prefer them over diamonds.
